- Drink plenty of water: A massage session will lead to a release of toxins that were hidden in the muscles into the body. With such waste, your body system will be forced to work extra hard to excrete it. You will need a lot of water to aid in the process and also to help you stay hydrated.
- Avoid alcohol, sugary drinks, and beverages containing beverages after going through a massage as they will make you more dehydrated. If you must take them, do so in moderation.
- Stay active by doing simple exercises to avoid suffering from post-massage soreness. You can opt to take a walk or do some simple stretching to cool your body down.
- Take hot showers frequently to enhance the flow of blood and also aid in relaxing your muscles. You can also add essential oils like lavender to help in calming you down.
- Avoid intense workout: Ensure that you get enough rest after a massage session if you want to keep the good feeling. If you must work out, do it before you go for the massage so that you will get the benefits of both the massage and the workout.
- Follow the exercise procedure given by the massage therapist so that your body’s stress points can be improved.
- Ensure that you book your next massage session soon enough, probably after a month. If this is done, you will get more benefits from the massage and the therapist will also have an easier time as he will not have to start with you all over again.
- Eat: After a massage, you may feel dizzy because your body has used up a lot of energy and needs a boost. You will need to eat something to regain your strength and get rid of the lightheaded feeling.
