How to Massage a Pregnant woman’s Neck
Pregnancy causes a lot of hormonal changes some of which may lead to stress and pain in some parts of the body such as the neck. A neck massage carried out by a professional will help in getting rid of the pains and the stress. Below is a guide on how to massage a pregnant woman’s neck:

• Ensure that your nails are properly trimmed to avoid scratching the woman’s neck. It will also help in getting a better grip on the neck muscles.
• Ensure that the chair the pregnant woman will sit on is of the appropriate height so that her head will comfortably rest on the massage table as she sits. You should also put some pillows on the chair to ensure that she will be comfortable throughout the massage.
• Hold the lower part of the woman’s skull using your left hand and then let the right hand hold the part of the neck that is near the shoulders. Glide gently at least five times using both hands.
• Place your fingertips at the base of the woman’s neck and move them upwards in circular motions. Do this gently and repeat at least five times.
• Hold the neck using both hands and gently rotate it to the left and to the right; repeat this move at least five times.
• Gently place your hands on the woman’s shoulders and massage the base of the neck softly as a sign that the massage has come to an end.

Do not massage the front part of the client’s neck as it may have a chocking effect. You should also ensure that the moves are carried out with all gentleness to avoid causing more pain than what the woman is currently experiencing.
A neck massage carried out by a professional pregnancy massage therapist is all it takes to ease the neck discomfort and make the woman feel much better.
