Choosing the Right Massage Table
To succeed in a massage Spa, you will need to have the right massage table that will address your needs as well as the needs of your most frequent customers. Below are factors you need to consider when buying a massage table:

• Model: Massage tables are made in different ways and you should buy the one that fits the kind of services offered in your spa. If you offer reflexology, head massages, beauty treatment or acupuncture, you will need a bed that has an adjustable backrest that will allow the client to sit during some treatments.

If your job involves traveling a lot to massage clients at home, you will need a lighter massage table which may not contain the adjustable backrest.

• The frequency of travelling to client’s homes: If you travel to clients’ homes a lot, you need to look for a massage table that is light in weight, probably below 14kg.

If your services are based in the spa, you can choose a massage table that appeals best to you.

• Your height: The massage table chosen must allow you to work without straining your back and hands. It should be able to accommodate your height so that you do not get tired in the middle of the massage. The normal height of a massage table is 5’2 to 6’4 inches but if you do not fall into this category, you can order for a custom-made table that will accommodate your height.
• The body size for most of your clients: You should select a massage table that can accommodate the size of your clients. If possible, the bed should be wide enough so that a person of any size can comfortably fit on the massage table.

If you buy a massage bed that will not even allow a client to stretch his hands, that client will likely never come back as he will end up feeling more tired than feeling the relief that results from a massage.

• Cost: A massage table must be one that fits your budget as you can only buy what you can afford. If possible buy a massage table that will not need to be replaced in the near future or one that will not break down when a client lies on it.

You must buy a table that suits the standard of your spa and not one that looks out of place.

• Your plans for the spa: If you intend to expand or raise the cost of massage sessions, you will also need to upgrade your spa and buy a good model of a massage table.

If you have settled and you consider staying in that location for a long time, you will need to buy a good massage table which could even be electric.
The state of your spa will make a customer pay any amount you ask him without complaining or make him look for an alternative due to the poor state it is in. Choose a massage table that will make the massage session as comfortable as possible, not one that will not even bear the weight of the clients.
