How to Deal With Client-Massage Therapist Conflicts
If you are a professional massage therapist, there will come a time when you will be faced with a not-so-good situation with a client. How you deal with this as a professional will determine how well you resolve the situation as most of the time, the client will think he is right in his judgment.
When a disagreement arises between a massage therapist and a client in the course of a massage, here are steps you should take as a professional:
When a client raises her voice, try to remain calm though you wish to through back the same venom at her. You are the professional and should, therefore, behave as such, unless the client gets to the extreme of becoming totally uncontrollable which is quite rare. If the cause of the conflict is as a result of the massage therapist crossing the line during the massage session, nothing would solve that, you will lose the client and many others that will care to listen to her experience at your spa.

When a disagreement arises between a massage therapist and a client in the course of a massage, here are steps you should take as a professional:
- If the massage session was still ongoing, it should discontinue until the issue is resolved
- Keep in mind your responsibilities as a massage therapist before reacting to the situation at hand.
- Without being offended, take the responsibility of being partly responsible for the issue at hand so that you can get to a point of solving the issue.
- Even when you did nothing wrong in your opinion, respect what the client is saying even when you know they are wrong in their judgment.
- Ask your client the alternative way he would like to be treated so that he will not be offended again.
- Say you are sorry if the situation demands it.
